Securities Litigation in Vancouver BC

Vayeghan Litigation will advise individuals, members of board of directors, and executive officers who are being investigated by the BC Securities Commission or the RCMP.

What is the BC Securities Act?

In British Columbia, the trading of securities is chiefly regulated by the British Columbia Securities Commission. This is a regulatory agency that oversees BC’s capital market in order to ensure, for example, that investors are protected against fraud. The trading of securities is most notably governed by the BC Securities Act and the BC Securities Regulation. Violation of these laws can result in administrative sanctions, civil lawsuits, and criminal prosecutions under the Criminal Code of Canada.

If you are being investigated by the BC Securities Commission and have been requested to produce documents, be interviewed, or appear before a hearing, it is critical for you to obtain legal advice. Similarly, if you have reason to believe that you are being investigated by the RCMP obtaining legal advice is crucial. Early legal representation can assist in devising an effective long-term defence strategy and help defend your rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
