Vayeghan Litigation is headed by Mo Vayeghan who is an Ivy League educated lawyer and a former B.C. Crown Prosecutor. Mr. Vayeghan is a nationally recognized lawyer, whose knowledge and experience have been heard through legal commentary provided to media outlets such as CBC News: The National, The Vancouver Sun, The National Post, and The Star.
Mr. Vayeghan is renowned for vigorously defending individuals against an array of complex and high-stakes Canadian criminal law offences. These include but are not limited to, assault and sexual assault, drug trafficking, weapons-related charges, fraud, and extradition cases.
Mr. Vayeghan is a seasoned courtroom litigator with invaluable experience from his tenure as a B.C. Crown Prosecutor. Mr. Vayeghan has argued cases at every level of the British Columbia judicial system, including the B.C. Court of Appeal. Academically distinguished, Mr. Vayeghan obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from Simon Fraser University. He then earned his first law degree from the University of Calgary, completing his legal education at UBC Allard School of Law, where he served as a Deputy Editor to the UBC International Law Journal. He further honed his legal skills with a Master of Law degree from Columbia Law School in New York City, one of the world’s leading law schools, graduating with honors.
At Columbia Law School, he was trained by accomplished lawyers such as the current judge of the United States Court of Appeals and the Director of Human Rights Watch. During this time, he served as Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, a prominent law review publication devoted to examining complex international law problems. Mr. Vayeghan has published on Canadian criminal law and international criminal law. In the representation of all his clients, he enjoys the unique ability to draw from his excellent understanding of Canadian and American criminal and constitutional law to make impactful arguments.
Mr. Vayeghan has obtained training at The Bronx Defenders, in New York City. This is an organization renowned for providing high caliber criminal defence, civil, and immigration law representation to individuals facing serious matters.
Mr. Vayeghan is a member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society, and the American Bar Association.
