Yalda Kazemi-Shirazi is the senior associate lawyer at Vayeghan Litigation. Her primary practice areas are refugee and immigration law. Ms. Kazemi is an experienced lawyer who has represented a wide range of clients from countries as diverse as Afghanistan, Colombia, Costa Rica, Iran, Iraq, Guatemala, and Mexico to just name a few. She is a skilled advocate with a track record of assisting her clients obtain safety in Canada.
Ms. Kazemi obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) and Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from McGill University Faculty of Law–one of Canada’s leading law schools. Upon receiving her law degrees, she worked at a busy immigration and business law firm in Montreal. Ms. Kazemi enjoys helping individuals from all around the world achieve desirable outcomes in their journey to live with peace and prosperity in Canada.
Demonstrating an impressive track record in the legal realm, Ms. Kazemi has represented clients at the pinnacle of the Canadian judicial system, having made a significant appearance before the Supreme Court of Canada. Her participation in this esteemed venue was in relation to a notable case concerning the Canada-US Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA), undertaken in collaboration with the Rainbow Refugee Society.
Ms. Kazemi is a member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia. She speaks English, French, and Farsi.
